I was just checking out the fall foliage reports for the mountains of Virginia and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! Fall colors in the Shenandoah Valley are at peak or near peak, and for the Blue Ridge Parkway, the colors are also near peak, at about 75%.
As far as I'm concerned, ANYTIME is a good time to go to the mountains, and fall colors are an added bonus! I think I'm going to have to pack up the Jeep & take a trip out to the mountains, pronto!
By the way, I see that the colors out in Mohicanland are in the moderate (30 - 50%) range right now...

Hard to imagine where they got those figures from, RSW. Here in Marion, on a damp & dreary October day, it hardly resembles fall. Foliage is green. Even on my drives to Asheville, the colors have just begun to turn ... barely.
Oh well, soon ... maybe next weekend!
