Hello -- Please don't think I'm an idiot. I'm an "old" veteran who is still a "newbie" to this board and I'm just trying to test this avatar thing. I'm thrilled with the vampire thing. Who ever thought I could indulge my Anne Rice fetish while in Mohicanland?

Anyway, as I said, please ignore my random idiocy...

Oh gosh, that was a terrible time indeed!! ARGH... Those 'fans' sure were and probably still are certifiable. Rich and Lainey though handled the situation very well with wit and intelligence.. I don't think anyone could have handled better than them..Must have been Rich's training at his former job. :)

In the immortal words of the cowardly lion..."Put 'em up, put 'em up!" I reiterate, I like Russell but I love Uncas. Whoo-chee Mama, thanks to the Gods, Scott Willis, and Rich for posting that lovely photo of Eric SCHWING (ala Wayne's World) Now, if that Aussie walk up to me and said hello, I'd probably slobber all over myself trying to respond then promptly fall over in a dead faint. However, Ilse is welcome to him for her dreams.

Lainey, you have an advantage over me since you met the real deal at Gathering #2 plus fell into that fiasco with his certifiable crazed fans. With all you and Rich went through, that would be a very bitter taste to wash out for sure. Since I have my imagination and VHS/DVD to fulfill my dreams, Eric is just fine thank you very much.

BTW, I guess Russell would win any outcome with fisticuffs. He has the reputation for punching first and asking questions later. I have a feeling DDL would end of philosophizing the incident, thus boring Rusty to death.

As for the match; the Brit or the Aussie? HA! Not even fair play ...

Doing great there Lainey!
Couldn't have said it better myself. Of course, I didn't say it, so that's easy to say.

Lainey Posted - July 12 2002 : 11:08:41 PM
Christie,

You like Russell? You like Russell??? You can like ice cream or chaw-co-lats or peanut butter, but not Russell. Nooooooo ... he's avatar material! He's the bargaining chip Ilse, ever the Dutch Trader, uses to get her way. He's the stuff of Huggy's dreams. He's proof of life & the gladiator. You can't just like Russell. (How'm I doing, Ilse?)

As for the match; the Brit or the Aussie? HA! Not even fair play ...

Bea, I think an avatar creation just might be in order. Let's see? What fits me ... what's that word for a female canine???
(I can hear the harmonic voices of affirmation strongly rising ... only to get caught in the tall tree's crosswinds.)

Christie Posted - July 12 2002 : 7:27:23 PM
Ilse,
Please forgive me. The last time I tried to convert anything over the to metric system was in the late 70's when American educators thought we should match the rest of the world. But you know how stubborn Americans can be! If you posted their height in meters, I'd probably calculate them much shorter than they are. By the way, I do like Russell and was enchanted with him the first time I saw him in "The Quick and the Dead."

At this point, I think we should just keep adding to topic as I think it's turned into some kind of chain letter. The topic that wouldn't end....!

Christie!

That was a cruel post if I ever saw one. Why? Not because you prefer the Brit, BUT! Being the mathematical genius that I am, it took me about an hour to calculate your numbers back to our (very superior, hehe) metric system. I am very pleased to inform you that the Aussie is surely tall enough for me. As for the Brit, unfortunately he disappears from my sight alltogether....

Oh, and there is a Dutch saying that states: high trees catch a lot of wind...

No wonder Russell Crowe gets so much media attention! Ilse posts his picture and in 4 days she has a flaming folder and a second page of posts. Well, according to the Internet Movie Database, Rusty is only 5' 11 1/2" http://us.imdb.com/Bio?Crowe, Russell while DDL is 6' 1 1/2" http://us.imdb.com/Bio?Day-Lewis, Daniel. DDL might be tall and wiry, but I'd put my money on the Brit over the Aussie any day!

>>>>See what I mean, Christie? A cruel girl, that Ilse.<<<

I second that.:)

Lainey, where is your avatar????? I have the feeling you may be creating your very own..

Bea Posted - July 12 2002 : 11:15:10 AM
>>>Coldish still. Bea, the amount of complaining you do about the weather, you could very well be Dutch <<<

Gee, hon, I'll take that as a compliment! I suppose my Dutch friends here in St.Albert must have been such wonderful role models..Just wait until I change my avatar..one day..hehehehe

Ilse,
I'm jealous you've achieved the flaming folder, which shows after 20 or more replies to a topic! You're the second person to achieve that just behind Theresa. Oh, to dream of bringing forth impassioned responses from fellow Mohicanites! One day, one day......

Oh Christie, don't be! I've posted 10 of those myself and this is the 11th.

Lainey Posted - July 11 2002 : 8:51:42 PM
Ah, Christie. I see you've not ventured into The Lion's Den. Lots of flames there ....
(NOT that Ilse & Theresa aren't skilled flamers!)

Said Ilse:
Ha! Just checked the Lion's Den for one of your threads, and I see your easter egg hatched and produced a soccer ball

See what I mean, Christie? A cruel girl, that Ilse.

Bea Posted - July 11 2002 : 8:49:34 PM
Thanks for clarifying this, Ilse!! Now I know what the heck is going on.. yep, I finally noticed my SOCCER BALL.
It is soo hot here right now, we went up to 33 and tomorrow we'll be climbing up to 35..EEK!!! How are things in Rotterdam?

Ilse Posted - July 11 2002 : 5:41:53 PM
Bea,

The avatar only shows up, when you start a new thread, not when you reply to one. That's how I got to see your easter egg on a thread that you started

Bea Posted - July 11 2002 : 4:14:10 PM
Call me dazed and confused but I don't see the avatar with my posts. I went back to Rich's explanation and everything should be working.

Rich, could this be a browser problem???

Bea Posted - July 11 2002 : 4:09:43 PM
Nope, not the new one..I guess you went to my profile to view it as I haven't figured out yet how to post with them..sigh...

Ilse Posted - July 11 2002 : 3:24:40 PM
In due time I will see your avatar? I already saw it.... and it looks like an easter egg

Bea Posted - July 10 2002 : 7:01:13 PM
HUH??? An egg?? Girl-friend, Easter happened a looong time ago..Unless of course things are different in Rotterdam.
Since you posted the pic of your favourite hunk, I had considered to do the same..but in the end refrained from doing so..Anyhow, in due time you'll see my avatar..

Ilse Posted - July 10 2002 : 5:14:49 PM
Hmmmmm.... what's that? An Easter Egg?

Ducking now....

Bea Posted - July 10 2002 : 10:47:50 AM
Thanks, Rich..I guess it is a bit distorted, but for the time being it's alright.. What would be the preferable..um.. average size? Oh gosh, here we're talking about sizes again.

Bea Posted - July 09 2002 : 11:26:16 PM
Oh yeah???? We'll see ..otherwise he'll be seeing more than just 4 stars.hehehe..

Rich, don't worry, as long as you'll give me my lovely avatar things will be just fine..
