Posted - January 30 2009 : 9:49:17 PM The Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., has announced plans to put photographs of its entire collection online.
I don't know what portion of the museum's holdings relate to the tribes of the northeast -- a fairly small portion, I would think -- but hopefully this new resource will be of some help to the scholars and reenactors who frequent Mohicanland. Seamus: One of the photos to be added to the website will be of a group of Chiricahua Apaches, taken at the Carlisle Indian School in March 1887, and the names of everyone in the photo will be provided!
