Posted - August 31 2003 : 11:59:57 AM If anyone is traveling through the Birmingham area between September 6, 2003 and September, 2005, plan to stop by the Birmingham Museum of Art. This coming Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 pm they are having a Family Day Grand Opening of this exhibition. This particular event is an interactive children's exhibition.
Walk into a Creek Indian home of 1790. Sit in their public square. Play their popular ball game, "Chunky". Make Indian pottery, sing Creek songs, learn about the famous Black Drink, and try on authentic Creek clothes. Large color murals will transport you back in time to 1790. And special videos will show you how the Creek live today, in this exciting, interactive exhibition that's fun for the whole family!
This exhibition will be on view through September 2005.
