Posted - January 23 2006 : 6:40:05 PM Hi Gang, I am also coordinating the raffle this year. Donations for the raffle can be most anything; state baskets, jewelry, handmade items, anything Native American, just whatever will be appreciated for the raffle. I didn't want to include the raffle in with Ariel's Auction letter because they are two entirely different events. The money from the raffle will go towards tying up any loose ends for the Gathering. Let's say we owe a little extra money to some event that we hadn't planned on, then the money for the raffle would be used for this. If we don't owe any money when the Gathering is over, then the amount that we collect will go towards our next Gathering. Please, if you have a donation for the raffle, make sure that you let me know that it is for the raffle and not Ariel's Auction or else I will assume that it is for Ariel. I want to thank everybody for their help with the auction and raffle. It really is very much appreciated for anything that you can send!!!
Love, Kay |

Posted - May 02 2006 : 6:59:16 PM Guys,
I have some film cells from LOTM that I will send out to help in the auction or raffle. Can I include $$ to buy a raffle ticket too?? Who do I contact for donating??
Respectfully,

Posted - February 13 2006 : 09:19:59 AM Hi BW, Yes, if you want me to decide whether an item would be better for the auction or raffle, then that is fine with me. As for the book, I think that someone would be interested in it, if you are willing to part with it. Anything that you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated!!!!! THANKS!!!

Posted - February 12 2006 : 7:28:31 PM Kay, Can we leave it up to you to determine whether a particular item is better suited for the raffle or the auction? For example, I donated an LOTM t-shirt, size medium, for the 2004 raffle, but Cherie and Jayne decided, quite sensibly, that it made a better auction than raffle item, as that way it could be purchased by someone who could actually wear it.
The 2004 Gathering pretty well cleaned me out as far as auction and raffle items go, but I'll come up with a few things. Do you think anyone would want a book entitled "The Huron: Farmers of the North," or should we just go on thinking of the Huron as great warriors and leave it at that?!!! Anyway, thanks for all your hard work.

Posted - February 10 2006 : 7:32:04 PM Stephanie and Jayne, Thanks so much for getting up some items for the auction and raffle. I have had a few people write and let me know that they would be sending donations. I can't wait to see what everybody will be sending!!! This is going to be so much fun.

I, too, have the wide-screen version (plus a couple of other modes of LOTM viewing!) and will consider donating it to the raffle or auction. Although Karen & I may not be able to attend, we'll donate other items to both Ariel and the raffle - one way or another! You're a couple of sweethearts for taking on the Gathering challenges!

Posted - January 24 2006 : 09:14:05 AM Kay, You really have worked hard to coordinate BOTH the auction and raffle, thanks!! I do hope you will get some help with these events. I have a few items to donate and will talk to you about it. One item I have is the THX vhs wide-screen version of LOTM! This item was highly sought after at the last auction. If I remember correctly it was quite a battle between me and Dale W. on the bidding! He won, but I managed to find another copy which I will donate. A few other odds and ends, too! Thanks again for all your hard work. Stephanie |
