Posted - November 21 2007 : 8:11:31 PM My aunt just went in with congestive heart failure. She went in back in January and they said it was a miracle she was walking. She had a quadruple bypass at that time.
This time they are still trying to figure exactly what they are going to do.
Also my grandmother went under open heart surgery about two monthes ago and is still sore.
My family on my dads side has a history of heart failure. This time last year my grandfather went to the hospital with pain and was hospitalized, then my father had a heartattack, but didn't go to the hospital, then my aunt went in. This was a very trying time for the entire family.
Please keep us in your mind.
Thanks LLOF

Posted - December 15 2007 : 3:09:52 PM lol. Will do LOTM. KY you better go rest. Women are born with a mothering instinct (well most of us). Men are strong, but they also need a little bit of babying. Time for some chicken noodle soup (watch your mail box :P) |

Posted - December 14 2007 : 12:30:52 AM I think my dear wife would put me up to the highest bidder right now. We men are supposed to be the tough ones, but it's you women that make us feel that way. When we get sick we are big babies, I must admit that. I told Nancy several times that I feel like a big sissy. She says, "No, your nothing like most men I've cared for in the hospital." Now, I don't know why, but that really doesn't make me feel real macho right now. Fact is, it makes me feel worse. I think I'll go watch some old Tarzan movies, Johnny Weismuller, or better yet, John Wayne, yep John Wayne it is. Yee-Haaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Posted - December 11 2007 : 3:14:19 PM I cannot wait until 2008!!! On top of everything else that's happened this year, now I'm down with pneumonia again. After a while it starts getting old. But at least now I'm starting to feel like I'm getting stronger day by day. Good thing my wife's a nurse. She said maybe she'd better go back to school for her MD if I keep going downhill? I told her it's not necessary, she's already got me, her MD (Mad Dog) Now got to get some rest. Mike |

Posted - December 06 2007 : 4:32:24 PM Showed my Aunt this and she gives you all a hug and a great big thank you. She just can't take the time to make more accounts on sites, because she doesn't feel she should make one because she has never even heard of The Last of the Mohicans which means next time she is here that is what she gets to watch. |

Red Fraggle, your grandfather's story is an inspiration!!! My father is 81 and the surgery he has to have will take at least six hours and it's inspiring to hear your grandfather came through all that so well!!!
Prayers and good wishes to both of you and your family members that their recovery will continue and you have a wonderful holiday together! |

By the way, has anyone heard from Red Fraggle about her Grandfather? Mike
Hi, Mike! Now that LLOF has shared her good news I can share mine. My grandpa made it through his 8-hour bypass surgery and is resting at home now. The docs were surprised that he made it because he's almost 80 and had to have a total of six arteries replaced--five near his heart and one in his neck. According to his docs, he shouldn't have lived even this long, but a lifetime of hard work saved him. The man has worked every day (along with my grandma!) for 8-10 hours a day in an un-airconditioned woodshop, building furniture frames, for over fifty years now. I guess it just goes to show that hard work really does pay off.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, everyone. And I'm glad your news is good too, LLOF. It's a nice post-Thanksgiving gift to be thankful for. |

Posted - December 03 2007 : 8:54:41 PM M'Lady, (or that is Our 'Little Lady of Fire') You know my dear, our thoughts were for you as well. I know for a fact that sometimes the illness that befalls a family can be harder on the others in the family than for the one who is ill. It seems the worry and stress takes a worse toll on the healthy, so our thoughts were as much for you as for your Aunt. Your friend, Mike |
