Posted - June 22 2007 : 10:48:49 PM I am pleased to announce that my grandson made his grand entrance into this world safely this morning, Friday, June 22nd, at 11:11 AM. He weighed in at 8lb 12oz and is 20 inches long. He is a lusty lad with a healthy pair of lungs! He has a full head of short, curly, dark brown hair. Oh... and he is absolutely beautiful!

Congratulations, Joyce! What a happy event! Glad to hear mother and son are doing well. And what a fine colonial-sounding name he has!
If mama is a fan of LOTM then perhaps you could have persuaded her to name the little tike Uncas or Magua or perhaps Nathaniel just kiddin' of course Isaiah sounds like a great name to me. |

Posted - June 23 2007 : 11:51:51 PM Thanks, everyone, for the congratulations and good wishes. Whew! What a weekend!
His name is Isaiah James Garrett Harris, and he is, indeed, my first blood grandchild. (I have been a step-grandma for 14 years.) Never fear... I am spoiling him already! All he has to do is utter a squeek and Grandma is right there to pick him up and comfort him. Grandma is very proud of him, because he did obey my instructions and was born on a weekend when I had no event to attend! If all goes well and Mom is comfortable, I will be able to attend Fort Ti next weekend.
So far, both Isaiah and his Mommie are doing just great. Well, they are both a little sore in approximately the same areas today, but they will heal and that will pass. They will be released from the hospital tomorrow. Then, the fun... and reality... will begin! |

Posted - June 23 2007 : 01:14:38 AM Congratulations!!! Nothing like a grandchild. I had a phone conversation with my 3 year old tonight who just got back from seeing Charlotte's Web. I can't wait until the other girl can talk, but she's just a bit too young just yet. |
