Posted - June 08 2006 : 8:27:26 PM Hi all. Probably not many people here remember or even care for that matter, but some of you may remember that I've worked for many years for The State newspaper in Columbia, SC. It's been an up and down tenure here with me most recently covering the late night police beat which was always my favorite anyway. But anyway, after more than three years of searching, resume sending, and head-pounding, I begin a new job on Monday. I am now the full time state-wide reporter for the official newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston! I get to work out of my house, travel around the state and write religion-based news stories and features, which were my specialty anyway. (some here will remember my ill-fated three day trip to the Southern Baptist annual Ho Hum Fest prior to the UnGathering...) I am really looking forward to the job. It will give me much-needed independendence and new challenges, and I really feel God has worked in bringing me to this. My contacts are all the same, except I'm just working somewhere new! Think of me while headed down the Nolichucky! |

Posted - June 09 2006 : 5:53:10 PM Hey, Red! Congratulations on the new job! I hope it goes well for you. GG is right, still time to celebrate with friends. I was hoping to see you show up at the last minute, but it sounds like you'll be starting your new job during Gathering week. No problem there, you know how to find Dupont on Saturday! :-) Seriously, best of luck and keep us posted on how it goes. We will really miss you next week. Stephanie |
