What?! You think "all the world is France???" It's German!! And probably Pennsylvania "Dutch" German, at that.
Well, I just don't know what this world is coming to. This will be, I believe, the second time that I have been forced to admit that Miss-yer Lay-Fran-say and I are in agreement about something. This is a situation I don't like being in at all, especially after said Miss-yer has encouraged Chauncey in the planning of my demise and scalping. Hmmmmph.
Yuengling Black and Tan is absolutely the best! As a matter of fact, I have about 6 bottles of this wonderful brew in my fridge right now all ready for those hot, humid summer nights when nothing else hits the spot so well.
Oh, btw.... Happy, Happy Birthday, Fitz! Hope it has been a good one!

No significance, I just like the taste. It's more like European beers than most others brewed in the US, except for maybe Sam Adams. I don't like the Coors/Bud/Miller type of beers. No taste at all. If I go out to eat and they don't have Yuengling, Sam Adams, Harp, Newcastle, or some similar beer, I will opt for ice tea. Come to think of it, it's hard to beat ice tea no matter what. Ice tea is the Cabernet Sauvignon of the South.

Posted - June 03 2007 : 4:39:55 PM That's the one! They have only been in SC for a little over a year. The Black & Tan is my favorite.
Well I did get to watch the French Open, and a hamburger and some French Fries would go well for supper. You know, the French don't call French fries "French fries", just "fries". They figure everyone should know that the French invented them, so why be redundant. So did the Germans invent the Hamburger? Nothing like international cuisine. |

Posted - June 03 2007 : 10:33:05 AM Thanks everybody! I woke up a little late for breakfast, so French toast today. Maybe some merlot later on, after the Yuengling. Is Yuengling a French name? The 2006 posts reminded me that this time last year I was getting ready for the Gathering. It seems like something is missing this year. Maybe one day this June I will have to ride up to Linville and hike up to Table Rock, then eat lunch at Louise's, go over to Dupont Forest, and finish it off at SOTR. |

Posted - June 03 2007 : 09:56:37 AM When I got to the site today and saw that Fitz already had 14 responses to someone wishing him a Happy Birthday, I thought that I must be a day or two late, but it was just our sneaky Sachem using last years responses too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FITZ!!! I hope that you have a wonderful day!!! Go out to some French restaurant today and have a good meal, and if there aren't any French restaurants near you, then go to McDonald's and get some french fries.
