In loving memory of our baby sister, Carole Bolton Sharber, who left this world and crossed over two years ago today. Hers was a life cut short (she was only 41) but richly lived, and she is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carole loved life! She loved her God, her job, her cat, gardening, shopping, and most of all, her family. She loved to laugh & dance & have a good time - and she also loved beer! This afternoon, just as soon as it's "beer thirty," and even though we're all far away from each other, my two sisters & I plan to celebrate Carole's life as we enjoy a brew or two - and she would definitely join us if she could! Anyone else care to join us for a cold one???!

Posted - April 29 2004 : 6:48:58 PM Thanks for joining us, Christina! By the way, I admire your dedication to your job; being willing to meet with an interview-ee at a local bar is definitely going above & beyond the call of duty! You go, girlie!
Seamus, that cage bar tavern of yours looks mighty invitin' indeed! I think I'll try a mug o' that Harp myself, if you've an extra one!
Kate, I absolutely LOVE that Gaelic blessing - it's just beautiful! And you brought along wine, too - glad you could join us for a glass!
Cheers, everybody! |

"...May the earth rest so lightly over you that your soul may be quickly through it and up and off, and on it’s way to God." (An old Gaelic Blessing.)

Posted - April 29 2004 : 4:23:24 PM Killian's Red is a good choice! Try Guiness Harp sometime, or Yuengling Lager, if it is available in your neck of the woods. Amber beers are wonderful, so is Black & Tan. BUT!!!!!! Carole is absolutely right.........whatever is cold!
I am headed for my tavern to pour a cold Harp...Here's to ya!

I forgot to mention, Carole also loved coffee! So raising a cup of java for her works just as well as a glass of beer!
Thanks, everyone, for your love & support - you made my day! |

Thank ye, Seamus - and welcome to the party! I'll be happy to return your kind hospitality & raise a glass to your dear father with you & your brother anytime!
To answer your question regarding Carole's favorite brew, her husband usually bought Busch beer, but I've a feeling he did so more because of the price than any other reason! Carole's answer to that question was always "Whatever you have that's cold!"
As for me, I had switched over to Corona Extra with lime during our recent warm spell, but the weather has cooled off again (only about 61 degrees here today!) so right now I'm enjoying a cold Killian's Irish Red!
Wilderness Woman and Theresa, welcome to the party, as well! The more, the merrier! Here's to good friends! Here's to Carole! |
