Posted - June 23 2002 : 12:58:37 AM At one of the DDL forums I visted there was a lot of swooning over Aragorn from "Lord of the Rings". Am I the only DDL fan who prefers Legolas? Legolas is the lithe, leggy and long- haired type who makes me go weak at the knees, as Hawkeye does.:) From the moment Legolas appeared I didn't look at anyone else!

Posted - July 05 2002 : 6:15:25 PM Hi! My name is Christina. I'm also known as "The Red-Haired Lass" and as veteran folks here will tell you I'm an (in)frequent poster, more frequent lurker here these days. I'm a DDL nut but I WILL tell you that Aragorn (Viggo) knocked me over, but Legolas was a close second! And as I like to say, I wouldn't turn Legolas away from my door!

Posted - July 05 2002 : 2:56:04 PM Sidony, For me it was definately a toss up between Aragorn and Legolas! Besides being a great movie, these two made it easy on the eyes. FYI, Warner Bros. recently announced The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring Special Extended DVD Edition will be released on November 12, 2001. I saw a lot of advertisements for the DVD release on Aug. 6, but I'm glad I didn't preorder it. Too many times I've purchased a movie, then the "special edition" is released several months later. It seems LOTR-Fellowship will have a lot of extra features, including deleted scenes. Hope this helps.

Posted - June 25 2002 : 05:52:57 AM Hi, Sidony,
We're all glad to have you join us here in Mohicanland - welcome! And please don't feel like a "reject" because it took a while to get a response! The Gathering just ended this past Sunday evening - very LATE on Sunday evening, as I understand it! - and folks are probably still recovering from the physical demands of those four absolutely GLORIOUS days! Not to mention their return trip home: we had folks come from as far away as Anchorage, Alaska & Honolulu, Hawaii to attend this year!
Keep posting!

Posted - June 24 2002 : 11:56:58 PM Hi Diane B! I'm glad someone finally responded to my post because I was starting to feel like a reject!)
I wish DDL had played Aragorn. Viggo Mortenson seems to have won a lot of hearts as Aragorn, but he didn't have the immediate impact on me that DDL had as Hawkeye...
I wish I had been there at the Mohican Gathering to see the film on the big screen again. Nothing else compares to it!

Posted - June 24 2002 : 07:48:41 AM Hi, Sidony,
I've just returned from the Fifth Annual Great Mohican Gathering - what an adventcha! - so of course, at the first available opportunity, I jumped on my computer to return to Mohicanland (courtesty of cyberspace!) to check out the latest postings on the Board!
I have not seen Lord of the Rings, but I do recall that the makers of that movie tried to get DDL to play the part of Aragorn! If DDL had accepted the role, you'd be "weak in the knees" over him right now, just the same as when he portrayed Hawkeye! As for Legolas, I have never seen him in any role, so I really can't offer up any opinion.
I did watch LOTM on Saturday night with the rest of the Gatherers & no matter how many times I watch this film - and I've lost count now! - DDL & the rest of the cast are just superb. LOTM has been & always will be "more deeply stirring to my blood...than any imagining could possibly have been."
