If you've never been to this webside, you owe it to yourself to check it out:

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/hdtrailers.html

The best way to get these uploads to work is to click on the "480" button & then maximize the trailer's window; oh, and wait till the trailer has loaded half the way before starting it. I've had "play" catch up with "load" before, which ain't no fun.

There are some real goodies coming in the next few months: Madagascar 2 (Mrs. Obi is ecstatic), Quantum of Solace (Daniel Craig is the best JB ever), Valkyrie (interesting "true" story with great directing/writing BUT starring Tom Cruise, whom I loathe), Fanboys (about the Star Wars franchise & stars Dan Fogler; how could it miss?), and what I'm really looking forward to, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (Lucian [woohoo!], Viktor [hissss!]...sorry guys, no Kate Beckensale in this, but it does have Rhone Mitra, so all is not lost).

Yeah that was the sad part of the book but in the movie "New Moon" I believe we will get to see him in "visions" or something like that when Bella "hears" his voice so there is that. No Edward is not a good thing

Looking forward to Public Enemies, Transformers 2, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and of course Twilight, New Moon. So many movies to see, so little time.

Ah, Twilight again. I just got to watch Twilight within the last few weeks. Read the first book and am now halfway through New Moon. I miss Edward too!

It just happens that I will be going three times in July as the first three movies come out that month and definitely again in November for "New Moon". Good times ahead.

Mistake on my part. Transformers 2 comes out June 24th...silly me

OOps, meant to add this - looking forward to Nine also! I wonder if they bumped up the release date to be able to be considered for this year's Academy Awards. What an incredible range DDL has! I watched My Left Foot again, amazing. The next film is another period piece, do you think he prefers these? I'm counting "TWBB" as a period piece, maybe shouldn't be.

Saw Australia, just ok IMO. I was interested in it because my Dad was in the S Pacific during WWII. He was in Australia for a bit and in New Guinea; glad I saw the movie for that reason.

Mrs. Obi is really excited about this one! (Oh, wait a minute, I promised not to call her that any more! Oh well.)

Oh, has anyone seen the trailer for the third installment of Ice Age? It looks really good! I loved the first two and I think the third will be just as good. I'm actually kinda excited for this one! (yes, I still like my cartoons!)

When I watched these "special" abilities a while back, all I could think of was "May the Force be with you!"

Totally looking forward to "New Moon"!! I can't wait! When my folks come to visit, my hubby and I will actually have a chance to go and see a movie at the theater again, we are so excited! Just need to pick what we want to see! (see what happens when you have kids, little things like this are something to look forward to!)

State of Play - Russell Crow, Ben Afflect, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren - A team of investigative reporters work alongside a police detective to try to solve the murder of a congressman's mistress. ===This is an excellent movie. Lots of good action and intrigue. Highly recommend it.

Push - Dakota Fanning, Colin Ford - Two young Americans with special abilities must race to find a girl in Hong Kong before a shadowy government organization called Division does. ==Kind of a silly movie but not in a funny way. Very science fiction like but weak. Perfect movie for HBO to play a million times over.

Fired-up - The two most popular guys in high school decide to ditch football camp for cheerleader camp. For the girls and for the glory. ==Silly young person's movie. Couple of chuckles.

According to Hugh Jackman, because of the poor economy (plus the fact that Austrailia was such a box-office flop, which he failed to mention), this year he'll be doing a movie entitled "New Zealand!"
Irishgirl Posted - March 09 2009 : 1:42:25 PM
Kay I have read all the Twilight books and you will love them. I could not put them down when I started reading them just after I saw the movie last November...I was hooked. Got my daughter started on the books and she too got hooked and read them all and saw the movie as did her friends. She has a gorgeous poster of "Edward" our favorite vampire in her room now which I must say looks wonderful. She turns 18 next month and is a big Edward fan. You have plenty of competition girlfriend.

As for "Australia" finally saw it this past weekend and I was disappointed. I thought it would have been better. Don't get me wrong I liked it but just that...nothing spectacular like I had expected. It was a tad boring in places for me and way too long. Even with stopping the movie a couple of times briefly for various reasons, it still seemed to drag on forever. Nicole and Hugh were very good in it I must say but I felt it should have been edited more and cut by probably 20 minutes to a half hour. The mother-in-law liked it though.

As for "Twilight" I enjoyed it but it is more of a teenage love story between a human girl Bella and a vampire boy Edward. Not much fang action or gore and killing in this vampire flick so if that is what you are craving then this is not the movie for you. It was slow moving but I enjoyed it. I thought it was sweet and the casting great especially of Edward Cullen who, for those of you who don't know, played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. Handsome young man indeed and great for this part. Ah, if I was twenty years younger........

I love Harry Potter! I'm reading the 5th book now. And Twilight-I really want to see that. I found a rough draft of the first book on the author's web site, read it, was hooked, and am now waiting for a copy of the book to become available at my local library. The movie has a great soundtrack too-I found the full Bella's lullaby on youtube and it is hauntingly beautiful. And as for Edward(unlike your "favorite" indian Obi), the actor is the same age as me so I'm finally claiming someone for me this time!

I haven't seen it even though I want to, but several of my friends have seen it and recommended it very highly as an excellent movie-they couldn't stop talking about it. so I think it is worth watching.

DDL singingnot sure about that one but hope it turns out okay. As long as he is not like Pierce Brosnan in "Mamamia" That was very painful to listen to and embarrassing.

NEWS FLASH #1: The release date for DD-L's latest film, "NINE" has been changed! The film is now to be released on November 25th of this year - YAAY!!! I simply cannot wait to see another performance by our man Dan! I am especially looking forward to hearing him SING in this film. And from what I've been reading, he has proven to be a VERY good singer AND dancer! Obviously this role is a LONG way from the mountains of NC & his performance as Hawkeye.

NEWS FLASH #2: Daniel has been signed as one of the stars in "SILENCE," which is to be released sometime in 2010! The story takes place in the 17th Century & revolves around two Jesuit priests facing violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity. Dan has been cast as Fr. Cristvo Ferreira; and Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal will portray the two priests searching for him. Martin Scorsese is directing this picture & I believe filming is scheduled to begin in New Zealand sometime in August of this year.

Two films from Dan in two years - HOW AWESOME IS THAT???!

I agree, Obediah, Daniel Craig is the best JB ever! If the British government really did have a 00 "licensed to kill" program, the current James Bond is what one of those agents would be like. "Quantum of Solace" is perhaps not quite as perfect as "Casino Royale" -- too many car chases, too little Felix Leiter -- but very enjoyable nonetheless. And I share the pain of everyone who thinks that "Valkyrie" is a must-see even though its star is a no-see. What to do???
Diane B. Posted - November 10 2008 : 10:53:37 AM
I am by my own admission a "rabid" DD-L fan and therefore, it is only natural that there is ONE film which I cannot wait to see next year & that is "NINE", which is scheduled to open in theaters December 11, 2009. This film serves as another opportunity for DD-L to stretch his acting "chops" - as well as to demonstrate his singing & dancing talents, as this film is a MUSICAL!!!

Daniel stars as film director Guido Conti who is facing a mid-life crisis of sorts, which includes struggling to deal with relationships issues with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother! The film is being directed by Rob Marshall & judging from the stellar supporting cast, this is yet another DD-L film with Oscar potential written all over it! The supporting cast includes Oscar winners Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman and Sophia Loren, as well as Penelope Cruz (Conti's mistress!), Stacy Ferguson and Kate Hudson.

You can find out more about the film at IMDB. "Nine" is also the subject of much discussion on other DD-L sites - including some pictures taken from the film set! Daniel looks as dashing & handsome as ever & I believe all of the "men folk" will especially appreciate the pics of Penelope Cruz, dressed all in red & sporting red high heels!

Although we've never seen Daniel in a musical before, I have no doubt that he will once again immerse himself in his role & we will all be treated to another side of his range as an actor.

Twilight is one I want to see. The books are very successful and the trailer looks good.

I too not a fan of Mr Cruise but Valkyrie is another I want to see.
