Posted - October 18 2007 : 1:16:38 PM This is a mini-series to be released on 30 Dec 2007. It's from good old Larry McMurtry (Lonesome Dove, etc). Here are a few of the main characters:
Gus McCrae.....Steve Zahn Woodrow Call...Karl Urban Inish Scull.......Val Kilmer Blue Duck........Adam Beach Buffalo Hump....Wes Studi
...and many, many more! 'Moon has a huge cast. Steve Zahn and Karl Urban are said to work really well together. In fact, Steve Zahn is said to have done an excellent job as Gus McCrae. That's outstanding, considering who he replaced!
I can hardly wait! |

I saw it there today as well. Must have released it earlier than was expected. I think I will wait for it to go down in price as it ultimately will. I need it to complete my "collection" as I have all the other DVD's. |

Posted - February 18 2008 : 1:00:30 PM I just checked Netflix and they say as well that it has a release date of February 26. |

Posted - February 18 2008 : 10:13:36 AM Really, already. It was to be released on Feb 26th. I shall have to check out our Wally as not been out in a few days as terrible snowstorms here. Hard to even dig out of the driveway. No school again today. Even Clinton and Obama chickened out because of the weather. Their appearances got cancelled for yesterday. |

Posted - January 14 2008 : 10:18:26 AM So did anyone watch Comanche Moon last night? I loved it. It's always hard to see other actors fill a role created by someone else, but I thought overall everyone did pretty well. Val Kilmer looks awful! Wes Studi did a great job, I thought (of course). Anyone else see it? |

Posted - January 11 2008 : 3:02:40 PM I'm watching a commercial for it right now.
And my mother's all: "Great, more Indians to feed her obsession."
What can I say? |

Posted - October 18 2007 : 2:27:54 PM Here is a slideshow of pics from the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc1H8tDcNOE For some reason the link says the video is unavailable so in the search box just type in On the set of Comanche Moon (photos by Tara Mason) and it will bring up the video for you.
Another site with pics is http://www.harpmaker.net/c_moon.htm
Enjoy, definitely worth seeing if you are looking forward to this one. |

Posted - October 18 2007 : 1:55:50 PM Me neither Obi. Been waiting on this one for ages. They kept changing the date it was to be shown from last Fall originally to last Feb and so on. Not too much longer to wait. When I first heard Steve Zahn would play McCrae though, I was surprised. I will wait to make a final judgement until after I see his performance. Nobody like Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall the originals. Still wish Eric had reprised his role as the "Hump" but we do have yummy Adam Beach as "Blue Duck". Pics from onset are gorgeous. I own all the other DVD's and this one will go with my "collection" when it comes out on DVD as well. I am sure with the great cast it will be brilliant at least I hope so. Can't go too wrong with Larry McMurtry. The book was excellent so I hope they stay true to it and don't leave out the "good parts". |
