I don't have HBO so I have not seen this, but was wondering if it was worth renting? Also, just curious....how does ES look in it? |

Been a while since I saw this. Whenever it first came on HBO quite a few months ago but I recall Eddie Spears looking mighty fine and a few others. I do like Adam though. |

Yes, Light it is full of delicious eye candy.
Last night at 2am when I couldn't sleep I decided to listen to the commentary with Adam Beach and Adain Quinn. Of course they're just drooling over how good the movie is, but there were a couple of interesting things they said. First was about Nathan Chasing Horse...my new crush....and how much of a great guy he is. Adam Beach went into more detail about him. But to me the most telling thing was they said NOTHING about Eric Schweig. Didn't even mention his name when he was the only one on the screen!! Adam even talked about Squanto, and it really left me with the feeling that they purposely didn't say anything about him. Maybe some hard feelings there or something. |

Never go by what others say. See it for yourself and make up your own mind Obi. I enjoyed it but then I was not looking for historically acurate stuff. I just watch for the entertainment factor and "hot Indians" but hey that is just me.
Ok, I must admit that I too was watching it for the "hot Indians". I even skipped over most of the Charles Eastman parts because Adam Beach does nothing for me. But I still have to say that it wasn't a great movie overall. Just a lot of hot Indians. |

Well, you can always do something else besides watch TV, right? |

What about "hot Indian women" Obes?. |

Posted - October 24 2007 : 4:25:59 PM What could be better than "Dancing With The Stars?"
Besides, "hot Indians" don't do a thing for me...and a history-based movie that is NOT historically accurate isn't entertaining to me. |

Thanks, friends, for all those "glowing" reviews. I have never seen it and now I never will...(and I won't miss it either).

Main problems, I thought ... factual errors [Charles Eastman at Little Bighorn????????], portrayal of Sitting Bull in a very unfavorable light, and after sitting through a fairly slow story, a quick gloss over of the actual events of Wounded Knee. The DVD comes with 2 discs ... not looking over the packaging very carefully beforehand, I thought that the film spanned the 2 discs. So, I was living with the slow start --- and middle --- and almost the end --- thinking ok, this is just scene setting for the power-packed 2nd disc. Never happened. Movie over.
Oh well.
Read the book!
I just watched it last night and agree 100% with you. I felt like I was eating watered down soup or something. You never felt invested in any of the characters and the special effects to me were very distracting. Also the wigs were just plain horrible!!! It was so obvious who was wearing a wig and who wasn't. This movie needed to be a mini series instead of a 2 hour movie. |

Yes, I watched it last night. I had the DVD laying around for the past couple of weeks and finally got to view it. In a word, weak. It was ok, I suppose, but nothing to write home about. Adam Beach was excellent, I'll give you that. Never a fan of Aidan Quinn, though he was better here than in most films I have seen him in. Actually, the acting wasn't bad [though Eric Schweig, I have to say, proved to me once again that he is no stellar actor ... his lines were simply blurted out as Gall].

Oh, I'm really disappointed to hear that! I just ordered the movie and have been looking forward to watching it.
I've noticed that the more recent movies Eric Schweig is in, he seems to be phoning in his performance. He's probably the only actor I can think of who's acting has gotten worse over time! It seems that he's not into it anymore and just does it to supplement his income. |
