Posted - October 28 2006 : 10:22:05 PM Hello everyone,
Have a favor to ask. I am currently working on the unofficial website concerning the remake of the 1957 western 3:10 to Yuma which will star Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. If any of you come across any photos from the set or filming, I'd appreciate it if you posted it here.
Thanks and all the best, ~Wade |

Posted - February 20 2008 : 09:24:19 AM In total agreement Obes and he had so many great lines
I hate Pinkertons
for a one-leg rancher, he's one tough son of a ##tch
I could go on as so many great lines come out of his mouth in this movie. |

Charlie Prince is the Magua of this movie, that's for sure. |

Posted - February 19 2008 : 1:14:26 PM Watched it yet again. I just love this movie and here is the true star of the movie. This guy stole the show from Russell and Christian. He was excellent and sure made a fan out of me.

Posted - February 11 2008 : 09:28:37 AM I thought that was unbelievable myself Obi, getting gut-shot and then up and about in a matter of minutes but that's Hollywood for you. Didn't even seem to be in any "pain" at all or look uncomfortable. Still, that aside it was a great movie. Watched it again yesterday with my "other half" who loved it. Definitely a "strange ending". Still thinking about it even today. |

Posted - February 10 2008 : 10:01:00 PM Really, my only big problem with this movie was old Byron...gets gut-shot, has the bullet removed by a vetrinerian the same day (without anesthetic!!!) & then rides the trail the next day!
Be that as it may, I really like Peter Fonda -- I did see him fairly recently in the Nicholas Cage flick, Ghostrider. He played Lucifer...pretty scary, pretty apropos, I thought! |

Posted - February 09 2008 : 9:55:53 PM Forgot to mention Mr Peter Fonda is in this one as Byron McElroy. Nice to see him in a movie again. Have not seen him in anything in ages. Well did catch a little of "Future World" on the telly last weekend. He was pretty good in this movie and quite the "tough guy".
Still can't get over Russell...sigh.....Red you will love him in this (know you have a "thang" for Mr Crowe). A bad guy but does have a soft center afterall. You just have to know how to "tap" into it. He looked great. |

Posted - February 09 2008 : 9:43:49 PM Well just got through watching this On Demand and all I can say is EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend it to others looking for a great movie. Russell Crowe is superb as Ben Wade the outlaw and Christian Bale is also superb as Dan Evans the Civil War Vet hoping to get him on the train to Yuma. I agree with what Obi said earlier in this thread about Ben Foster as Charlie Prince, Ben's side-kick, pure evil and those eyes....WOW. I knew I recognized him from somewhere but for the life of me could not figure out where. Well I just checked him out on IMDB and realized it was from Six Feet Under where he played Claire's boyfriend Russell. He has come a long way. Brilliant acting from him too.
Russell is amazing in this and plays his part to perfection. Definitely a "weird" ending but this movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. Do yourself a favor and watch it, you are in for a real treat. |

Posted - September 15 2007 : 11:41:00 PM Cute, schmoot! Remember, this happens at night, so you never see their faces!
As far as geezers go (IIRC, I coined that term myownself), you are only as old as you feel, or act! I ain't old! |

Posted - September 14 2007 : 5:18:22 PM So they must have been cute then since you are telling us about them Obi or are you just trying to trick us into going to see the movie by enticing us with not one, not two, but three Indians
Have to say that, whilst I will always find the Indians appealing of late I have found myself, how shall I say it, attracted to a more mature type of man with a deep, sexy voice and "to die for" accent . Same age as you Obi so I am thinking to myself, would he consider himself a "Geezer" probably not although I highly regard "geezers" such as yourself. You have done a lot to promote their cause and that is always a good thing. Keep up the good work |

Posted - September 14 2007 : 10:27:10 AM ...for all of you ladies who have made your preferences known on oh-so-many occasions (you know who you are & so does everyone else!)...the were three American Indians in this movie (how could there not be? it being a western, after all). They ambush the main characters at night (so we never see their faces). Ben Wade (R. Crowe) then ambushes the ambushers, so to speak, & kills all 3 of them in about 2.5 seconds (the last one with his own knife!) 'course none of 'em had a big blue hockey stick... |

Posted - September 12 2007 : 10:53:35 PM I got to see the movie this afternoon ... excellent! Russell Crowe was fantastic & Christian Bale was pretty darned good too. Their performances really complimented each other...as for Ben Wade's henchman, Charlie Prince (Ben Foster), what a raving psychopath! The weapons, clothing, etc, were historically accurate (mostly). The tension built nicely toward the end. Then ending, though, was a little weird...ah well. I highly recommend it! (Think of this as the Geezer Seal of Approval!)

Posted - October 31 2006 : 12:12:51 AM I know I watched the original way back when. I don't remember much about it other than Franikie Lane singing the themesong. That was probably the best part of the movie! |
