I was contacted by the movie company to be in this film. Anyone else going to be there? They said they will have about 350 Americans and Hessian extras. Filming for the Rev War part of the film will be Feb. 5 & 6 in Williamsburg, VA. I guess they'll use Williamsburg as a backdrop for Washington's attack on Trenton.

Maybe I'll run into some of the cast from "The New World", which is shooting in that area.

The Film: "Father of His Country"
The film is being directed and written by Hollywood director Ron Maxwell, who also directed "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals" and will feature a number of well-known actors (to be announced).
The production team working on this project includes some of the most experienced and well-respected professionals in the film industry. Bookmark this page for more information on the cast and production team as the project progresses.

Scenes being portrayed in the film include:

*Washington as a young man, as a surveyor to Lord Fairfax
*His courtship of, and marriage to, the young widow Martha Custis
*His life as a farmer at Mount Vernon
*His service as a colonel of Virginia Militia under General Braddock in the French and Indian War
*His leadership in the American War for Independence, including the *Battle of Trenton and Delaware River Crossing, Valley Forge, and the surrender of Cornwallis' forces at Yorktown
*His election as our first President and refusing popular moves to make him King, thereby preserving American democracy.

In addition to scenes from Washington's life, the film will show the historical context through a number of other scenes showing the political mood in the Virginia House of Burgesses and Continental Congress, street scenes in Philadelphia and Williamsburg, the Virginia citizenry cheering on General Braddock's troops on their way to war, and the French and Native Americans at Fort Le Boeuf.
