Native American actors Wes Studi and August Schellenberg are on their way to "The New World," director Terrence Malick's take on the Pocahontas tale for New Line Cinema. Joining the two are Raoul Trujillo and Michael Greyeyes.

I wanted to thank CT for posting this because it got me back in touch with a dear friend that I haven't talked to in awhile. She is over Raoul's official fan club, so if there are any Raoul Trujillo fans out there, then you need to check out her site for him. It is:

With Terrence Malick in charge, this film has some great potential. "The Thin Red Line" was visually stunning, and in my opinion (I know I'm in the minority here) a great work of art. I can't wait to see what Malick does with 17th century Virginia. It might not be historically accurate, but at least it will be artistic, something lacking in most films today.

from Hollywood Reporter:

"Schellenberg, Studi survey 'New World'

Native American actors Wes Studi and August Schellenberg are on their way to "The New World," director Terrence Malick's take on the Pocahontas tale for New Line Cinema. Joining the two are Raoul Trujillo and Michael Greyeyes. The project is set against the backdrop of 17th century America in the nascent Jamestown, Va., settlement where the culture of European explorers collided with that of Native Americans. It focuses on the relationship between explorer John Smith and young Indian princess Pocahontas. Colin Farrell already has been cast as Smith, and Christopher Plummer is set as English officer Capt. Christopher Newport."
