You might note the Frenchman wearing the red tuque on the DVD's cover. He is also prominently featured in the surrender scenes. You won't want to miss that! |

Posted - October 21 2009 : 01:22:48 AM Actually, I knew the Indian. We are in the same unit in the south, the Southern Indian Department. He was making jokes and I was trying hard not to laugh. |

Posted - October 20 2009 : 4:26:09 PM It's definitely you. I had spotted you and was watching all the while the Indians were inspecting you. You had a silly grin on your face. You looked like you were trying to win them over with your charm! It must have worked, if they didn't take your jewelry.
I have another photo that was taken right after the Indians finished with you, and you are standing right next to the guy with the purple hat in it, too, as further proof. |

Posted - October 20 2009 : 2:23:07 PM That "orangeish red color" is madder. The yarn was hand-dyed by a lady in Memphis with actual madder root (three dyeings to get the depth of color) and knitted by a lady in Wisconsin.
Hard to tell if it is me. I see John, and Randy, and Rick, and Joseph Privott is the Indian on the left. |

Here is a shot that shows the scope of the entire surrender ceremony. With hundreds of soldiers and campfollowers there, it was huge!

Posted - October 20 2009 : 09:29:43 AM No, I had a shirt on. But I did get perused by a number of the British allied natives. Seems I was wearing my quahog wampum necklace. Ever been closely looked over by an Indian? A hostile one? |
