It's only 265 pages of actual text, many of which are excellently chosen illustrations of paintings and artifacts. The language is not such as would put most readers to sleep, either. Best of all, since this is NOT new, and has probably been discussed before - I found it on clearance at the Hastings stores in my area for $5.95 instead of the $25.95 it was when it came out! If you'd like a modern account that recognizes that the war was really between THREE competing empires, not just the French and British, fully according the Iroquois their rightful importance; and that takes into account both the causes and results of this most important and overlooked period of our history, you can't go wrong!
