RSM MacWilliam was kind enough to show me the 'mystery brass' from his most recent chapter of 'The Chronicles'.  I gave him my own opinion, but I swore to secrecy, so as to allow him to decide on how to incorporate it into the Clan MacWilliam Lore...

The battles were of the usual faire, but with some small improptu twists (brought on, and agreed to, by none other than the reenactors themselves).  These 'twists' were well within safety, and the crowd loved it!!!  Perhaps, the site folks will know a good thing when they see it, and weave it into the future battle-script.  There is always hope...

A special salute goes to the staff and members of the Busy Run Heritage Society, who hosted a bountiful feast on Saturday evening.  They always make sure that all who participate, feel welcome and are presented with the most generous hospitality.  This includes another Mohicanite, one who I did not see this weekend (probably because he was busy doing at least three jobs at once, as usual), none other than Giant Greman.  Thank you, lad, wherever you were.

Well, I will now step aside, and allow the other members present to give their own observations.  I will close with giving a thunderous "Huzzah!", to all who attended.

42ndNCO	Posted - August 10 2005 : 8:10:03 PM Huzzah Indeed! A good weekend stepping out with our Highland and Provincial brethren. I think B-Run is probably the most heavily-attended F&I event (by Highland units, anyway)in the area. The only casualty of the event was my son Thomas who was captured and subsequently befriended by Wethlewetowaco's clan. I'll feel very cheated if he ends up camping on the "other hill" in a few years!

Aye Lass, but my attendance depends on my available 'off-time', since I will be attending Whitpain, as my second-cousin in the 4th Battalion of the New Jersey Volunteers, the weekend before. Either way, as Herr Flags noted, the Sergeant-Major is a very friendly and approachable gentleman. You will find that he, his officers, his grenadiers, and the ladies of the company distaff are a very pleasant and enjoyable company indeed. Many Flags	Posted - August 09 2005 : 08:14:14 AM Rose....sorry that my cousin Malcolm did not get to meet you. He would have been most gracious if he would have been introduced. Sjt. Munro, I understand the duties of you British soldiers, esp. the Scots and how they take care of their men like family.....Malcolm is always speaking of Highland hospitality! Rose, Sjt. MacWm. is also planning on Ligonier so he will meet you there. His grenadier unit does not do the day parade (the night parade, ja!), and he stays around the fort and in camp at all times. I will tell him to look for you. You can't miss the man, large blonde grenadier in Sjt. Major's uniform. He can be very gracious; all business on the field, but 'round the campfire at night, with a glass of port, he can be personable. Unlike me!! Personable at all times!! Pax Aye! And thanks for the explanation of how you became an adopted brother/uncle. That was truly interesting, and refreshing to know that there was no blood-letting! Maybe you can redeem yourself at Ligonier -- I will be attending, and I know you usually come for the parade. Deal?

blueotter	Posted - August 08 2005 : 7:36:05 PM In case nobody has read my post in the old Bushy Run thread, I will say that my first visit to the Battle of Bushy Run was wonderful! The site is more than gorgeous, and the weather was less harsh than it had been all week, as if it KNEW we needed it to be nice. The food Saturday night was so good — so much better than some that have been provided at other events. The whole experience was, well... awesome! I camped with Jeff Graham's 60th, which is the sister unit of Gordon's 60th. All my guys skipped Bushy Run this year because they've been saving all their long distance resources for Fort Meigs, which is coming up soon. For me, Bushy Run is now only 50 minutes away, so there was NO WAY I was going to miss it. Jeff was a delightful host; we had sparkling philosophical discussions that were lots of fun, and I have adopted his daughter and her best friend as my own two girls. They are both 11-going-on-30. I've also been invited to camp with Jeff's Hanoverian troops at Old Bedford Village on Labor Day weekend for The Road to Culloden. Ha! A Jacobite in their midst! So you see, I had an excellent experience at Bushy Run. I wish I could have met ALL the Mohicanland members -- I think the Sgt forgot to introduce me! Rose
Fitzhugh Williams	Posted - August 08 2005 : 10:56:54 AM I would have loved to have seen it! But I am still recovering from my all-night-drive back from OBV. I will add it to my *List Of Things To Do*, which is, right now, topped off by Louisbourg in 2008.
