And a very good one!!! Sorry to have not responded sooner ... was down for the count for a day & a half! This is a [b]great[/b] idea, Seamus!!! I can tell you, it's one I'd plan my summer vacation around!!! A year or two ago, a similar idea was discussed with Sarah M., only in the Fort William Henry area of New York ... Both would be spectacularly informative & educational & a whole lotta fun!

This would need to be coordinated by the likes of ... of ... YOU! [seeing as how you're in PA, retired, etc.!! [:)]]. Don't know how well either idea would go over for pure [i]The Last of the Mohicans[/i] movie fans [in comparison with the Mohican Gatherings], but there's bound to be some intense interest in a tour of this nature. I've been to Jumonville & Fort Necessity ... would love to go to the Pittsburgh area for those locations.

Another good reason to have this? It's the stomping grounds for Doctor Mary & I might finally have the opportunity to meet her!!!

Doesn't sound very charming I realize but actually it is a quaint little fork in the road. Nice to meet you and I look forward to conversing with you again.

English Trader	Posted - October 04 2002 : 1:50:36 PM Hi Rich and Seamus, The proposed Hudson Valley "gathering" would go from Glen's Falls and Fort Edward and Rogers' Island to Fort William Henry, up the stunning Lake George to Fort Ticonderoga, and up to the stunning Crown Point. It's all VERY compact and would be easily managed. Our friend at Fort W.H. offered to help set it up and manage it. Ideally, this would be done around a Grand Encampment so people can hear "MAKE READY, PRESENT, FIRE" in real life, watch the Indians, the French, the Brits, etc..... It really brings the movie alive. Uh-huh................just like my Rotary Club.....make a suggestion, and all of a sudden, guess who is in charge!! Shoulda kept my big mouth shut!!!!!!! Seriously, if enough interest is out there to warrant the tremendous amount of work needed to put a tour like this together, I would be very happy to do it. I would, of course, want to enlist the assistance of other Pennsylvanians, Doc Mary, Cousins Malcolm, Many Flags, Dr. Uncle Mark, Davey Gunn, Tree Tales, Uncle Angus, and, of course, Uncle Quasi and anyone else who may wish to be involved (Lt. Edmond McKinnon!). It sure would shake out those who are really interested in the F&I War, and not just the groupies, wouldn't it? Of course, a showing of LOTM would be necessary, because even we historian purists enjoy it immensely! How about taking an interest finder poll, Rich? Seamus
