Posted - October 08 2006 : 11:03:09 AM No silly, not talking of me! I'm referring to the Weekly Update.
Man, it used to be such fun ... it all evolved because in those first few years things used to happen around here real rapid-fire like! No kidding!
Which interview was in the works? A new history page! What will Eric's newest mask look like? Musings! This added; that added! Plans for the next Gathering! Hey, guess who just contacted us and wants to add photos ... or write their reminisces? Who bad-mouthed us now? E-mail of the week! The latest Courier edition! Book sales are rising & look who bought one?
That was fun. The site was expanding & growing - in every which direction - fast. I would post one of these Weekly Updates & it would have 50+ reads in 2 hours. People actually looked forward to them, and let me tell you, I heard about it if I was remiss in my duties!!!
Now, as you have noticed, they are few and far between. Most, like this one, are simply me whining - - and recording mundane changes to the site and/or forum. Oh well. At least all that good stuff is still [mostly] up there for your enjoyment!!
Yesterday, I went through a bunch of pages looking for errors & the like. After Fitz posted that picture of me from one of the Courier editions [from a driver's license, btw], I looked at the page he culled it from and noticed an image missing! That sucked me in to looking for more of the same. While doing so, I rediscovered some of my very favorite pages. Have you ever seen these?
-- From the Mohicans' Lands to Mohicanland! Interesting page, if only for the beautiful score written by my brother, Ronnie! -- Through Two Sets of Eyes ... One Amazing Vision Maybe the best photo gallery we have! -- Tattoo Tantalizers! If not, then this one surely is! -- The LOCATIONS ... in a bit more detail ... - Companion info to the first guide book edition! -- ... from the ramparts ... What was an ongoing series from the North Country. -- BRADDOCK'S DEFEAT I don't know why, it just is!
I could go on & on .. point is, this site is loaded with little treasures. Peruse the Musings! Listen to the soundtrack in the Listening Room. Read of the Gatherings past ... Hey, I've not even mentioned the Cast Interviews, or one of our longest running most popular pages, the Eric Schweig Gallery! There are the Chronicles, Dr. Mary, Wes at the Movie ... on & on. Browse, baby, browse!
So anyway ... THIS week:
- The Chat Room is fixed & updated.
- The birthdate field in the profile section is simplified. So many registered as 13 years old because they couldn't figure it out. Try it again!
- A new trader in the Sutler's Space - maker of wooden desks - beautiful! Including colonial versions of our present-day laptops.
- Anyone having trouble with ActiveX controls here [or elsewhere], advice: Check your Internet Security settings, upgrade to IE 7 [though, I should warn you, the official release is not yet out], add the site in question, in this case mohicanpress.com, to your Trusted Site list.
One more thought ... I was reading the Courier and was wondering how many here today "get it." Some hilarious stuff in there ... dry, sometimes ... but maybe you had to be there!
... and so it goes ...
Happy Trails!

Posted - December 23 2006 : 10:19:23 AM "Two Sets of Eyes" is slick! You know, I'm really amazed that LightOfTheMoon, Irishgirl, Dancer, RedFraggle, & others too numerous to mention, have any time at all to post...I'd have thought they would be spending ALL their time staring at Eric Schweig's butt!! AND drooling all over their monitors... |

Posted - October 08 2006 : 1:44:58 PM Funny you should mention rediscovered pages. I was thinking over how I came to join the Studigroup yesterday and it was your interview with Wes that convinced me I needed to join his fan club. He was clearly not just another shallow self-absorbed actor. Your interview sent me down a path and basically changed my life. I revisited the interview just yesterday. Funny how small things can have a huge impact.
