It's good to hear from you Glenn. As a fellow believer in Crockett's having gone down fighting, it's most likely he died somewhere near the gate between the chapel and the long barracks. I don't believe Crockett and his men would have been able to reach the low barracks at that juncture. David Crockett was a man of honor, and after finding out that three groups of men tried to escape over and near his postion, he stayed where his postion was. I believe that he faced the west wall, to await the onslaught of Mexicans coming toward him and his men. There are several eyewitnesses that place him near the chapel. Those being Mrs.Dickinson, Joe, Enrique Esparza and Feliz Nunez. I believe the two men with him loaded his rifles while he shot as many Mexicans as he could. Eventually his gun was broken off at the stock, and he fought with the barrel in his left hand, and his big butcher knife in his right. This was possibley due to Crockett's right arm maybe being broken. As much as the surrender-execution crowd would have us believe he didn't die fighting, this scenirio seemed just as convincing as the other so-called evidence. See you later, Ronald.
