I am a direct descendent of John Harrington, one of the 70+ men on Lexington Green April 19, 1775. I believe John was the 6 year older brother of Jonathan Harrington (30) who was shot, then crawled to the doorstep of Harrington House where he died. I am trying to confirm the genealogy and anything that may be known before and after the information below of the Henry Harrington family which I believe was as follows:
Father: Henry Harrington, born 8 Jan 1711 in Watertown, Middlesex, MA; died 25 Dec 1791 in Lexington, MA.
Mother: Sarah Laughton, born ?, married 4 Jun 1735, died 16 May 1760 following childbirth.
Child 1: Sarah Harrington, born 17 Sep 1735 in Lexington, MA.
Child 2: Henry Harrington, born 27 Aug 1737 in Lexington, MA; married Ruth Blodgett 29 Oct 1759.
Child 3: John Harrington, born 27 Feb 1739 in Bedford, MA; married Mary Wooton 3 Dec 1761, died Deering, NH 1818. (My great great great great grandfather.)
Child 4: Jeremiah Harrington, born 19 Apr 1742 in Lexington or Bedford, MA.
Child 5: Jonathan Harrington, born 6 Mar 1745 in Lexington, MA; married Ruth Fiske (born 10 Apr 1746) 13 Feb 1766; died 19 Apr 1775 in Lexington, MA.
Child 6: Thomas Harrington, born 1748 (month and day?) in Lexington, MA; married Lucy Perry 4 Jul 1771.
Child 7: Elizabeth Harrington, born 17 Sep 1750 in Lexington, MA; married Nathan Monroe on ?; died 24 Dec 1812 in Lexington, MA.
Child 8: William Harrington, born 18 Mar 1752 in Lexington, MA; died 20 Jun 1778 in Lexington, MA.
Child 9: Moses Harrington, born 23 March 1754 in Lexington, MA.
Child 10: Mary Harrington, born 19 Apr 1756; married Newell Reed 16 Oct 1777.
Child 11: Ebenezer Harrington, born 15 May 1760; married Sarah Loring 4 Sep 1788, died 7 May 1846 in Lexington, MA.
My family has lived in Palo Alto, CA for 40 years, moving here from Cedar Rapids, IA. We are planning to come to one of the Lexington Green battle reenactments within the next year or two. We would also be interested in information about a typical program around April 19, where we should stay, what we should do, and any web sites you recommend.
Thank you for any information you may provide.
