Is it just me or do other people have problems posting replies on this site?Anyway,a point I'd like to make about the archaelogical findings at the Little Bighorn,Glenn,is that I'm really not convinced about the accuracy of them.Or rather,the interpretation of them.After the battle,there were hundreds of Sioux and Cheyenne children running around the scene.I'm sure that one of their favourite "Games" would have been to pick up the thousands of expended cartridges and carry them all over the place.Had I been there as a kid,that's what I would have done!You pick up an armful....maybe 60 or 8o or 100...and run till you drop or until a friend grabs you.I'm not saying that's what happened but I would suggest that it's a strong possibility.Which would mean that signs of "strong resistance" could well have been signs of,simply,a ten-year-old Sioux kid dropping an armful of cartridges when something else distracted him.
