Mr. Coody,
Three summers ago I took a historical tour led by the famous western novelist Terry C. Johnston. One of the sites we visited was the property of Gilbert Bird In Ground. Gilbert is the grandson of White Swan, and his property is on the site of Reno Crossing, where Reno and his men crossed the Little Bighorn and fled up the hill to Reno Hill.
We were hosted to a barbecue of buffalo burgers at Reno Crossing by Gilbert's son and grandson and all their family. I don't know when they came into possession of this land, but I think they have owned it for many generations.
I don't know if you have heard of Mr. Bird In Ground, but it may very well be you are related. I think I have his address if you are interested in writing him.
I hope this helps.
