Jayne and I met on the board and have lunch together now and then.  It's a blast.  I'll let you know what I think of the tape, Ayesha.  It will be 4 to 6 weeks before I can get any Walela through Amazon, so this opportunity to hear Jayne's tape is a real treat for me.

: : : : : : : Last Tuesday evening, we went to the Walela concert in San Francisco.

: : : : : : : It was such a beautiful experience.  If all of you have not heard their music, I encourage you to get their CD's or tape.  This was a family evening.  Rita and Pricilla's parents were in the audience, so it was a special night for them as well.  They are on tour to promote their new album.  I will put a link to their web site below so that you can read about who they are.

: : : : : : : They have exquisite voices, and don't need any instrumentation to back them up.  When they sing without instruments in the background, you don't even realize it.  Many of their songs are about their Cherokee roots.  They do many of their performances throughout Indian Country.

: : : : : : : We were right up by the stage (lucky us)!  When it was over, the performers came and mingled with the audience.  We stayed around to enjoy the moment.

: : : : : : Thnak you, Ayesha, for linking that site.  There are some lyrics shared that are just fantastic.  I would love to get the CD with the song "Amazing Grace".  "Cherokee River" also looks very pretty.  I'm just going to have to make another trip to Best Buy, I guess.:)

: : : : : I enjoyed the concert description.  Dana, I have that CD.  It's very nice.  One of my favorite songs is "Cherokee River".  In fact, Champ was able to contact a friend who translated some of the Cherokee lyrics for me.  If you want to hear it Tues, I can arrange that!
