: Suzanne, if that is who you really are, there are three choices, as I see it. One is to continue "following this board" from afar. Maybe it'll all come together for you some day. The second would be to start new threads, dealing more with history, and/or only join the threads you do understand. The third would be to mosey on. I don't see a suitable fourth that goes something like "criticize all the people here," which is what you did. Every single soul here was "new" once. Even for us, the Board was a new thing when we started it. It had no personality. We had to wait & watch & listen & cultivate. We made mistakes; messed up here & there. Just like you are doing now. People have become friends here, so of course there are what appear to you to be "inside jokes." That's bad? I don't think so. The Board is always open to those who want to join in, or even move in a different, a new, direction. Let me say, too, that the Board was set up, originally, to discuss the movie, not history necessarily. It has expanded to include all kinds of stuff ... most all of which IS connected, however distantly at this point, to LOTM. First & foremost, the Board was set up to be fun. THAT it is ... usually. Now, I can easily see how someone might not be able to make heads or tails out of this place at times, but it's just folks having fun.
