I heard this song on a video and I hum it all the time. The verses tell of a guy who falls in love with an Irish lass. The Irish lass dies at the end. So sad... I can't quite figure out all the words.

Red is the rose,
In yonder garden grows,
Fair is the lilly-of-the-valley,
And clear is the water that flows from the...BOING (This SURELY can't be right)
And my love is fairer than any.

I KNOW it's not 'BOING'. Can't for the life of me tell what this word is in the video I have. This is a chorus from a song called 'Red is the Rose'. Does anyone know what the word is? I know those celts can come up with some strange ones sometimes.

And another thing. The version I have heard is sung to the tune of the 'You Take the High Road..." song, which I thought was Scottish, yet, the words to 'Red is the Rose' are Irish. Hmmmm.

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!
