Just a last 'footnote' here. Actually, it is against Queen's Regulations for anyone in a Highland Division to wear anything under his kilt when on parade in 'Dress' uniform and whoa betide the poor misguided soul who tries to 'cover up'!! (Yes, they do indeed have their ways of finding out! :0)

There is one exception where 'undergarments' MUST be worn - when on a parade which is 'taken' by the Monarch.
