Dear Seamus,
It is with great expectation that I hope to see you again come this Sunday instant. We are to gather the Penna. Provincial forces at the home of Lt. Col. Conrad Weiser for a general exercise of the troops and planning for the campaign season ahead. It is my hope of again meeting up with Cpl. McDowell and the brave boys of the 77th
at some point in this year although one never knows whence we are called to arms. Since the tragedy at Penn's Creek it seems the alarm has been struck so often we tend to get little sleep . We are often dispatched with little fore notice and sadly often arrive too late to be of any service. However we must always be diligent in our patrols and in the service of our King.
Your humble servant,
Sgt. Toot
