: But moving on to the topic of discussion......so Lady Ann, I always loved those plaid wraparound skirts held together with a pin. Along with the knee length socks. Very cute. Are you saying that a Scot would actually be offended if I admired his?
: He would actually NOT be flattered if I told him "Hey, NICE SKIRT. Which girls prep school do you attend?"

My dear B.Gnome:
While an offended Scot may excuse a duck on the grounds of its future edibility, I daren't think what that Scot may do to a Gnome...and I might add that the traditional Highlander does battle in the buff, his only true fear being the ire of his lady when she finds out that her 9 yards of lovingly woven wool has been dirtied, bloodied and torn in the heat of battle! Imagine if you will the able-bodied "schoolgirl", charging you with all weapons, steel and otherwise, unfurled, in a mad naked screaming fury...that sight has caused men of stern stuff to turn tail and run for the hills (the armies of Kings Edward I and II come to mind). It may even give pause to a Gnome.
Sincerely,
Lady Ann
