: Thats interesting that Bills family is from the Isle of Skye; I was fortunate enough to visit Skye about 8 years ago when I went to Scotland on vacation. We stayed at the Dalhousie Castle Hotel outside of Edinburgh. We wanted to have a Scottish adventcha so when we found out about a helicopter trip over to Skye, we couldnt pass up the opportunity. It was beautiful flying over the highlands to the island and we loved our time spent on Skye, although driving along some of the one-lane roads was a bit harrowing.
: We also took a trip up to Loch Ness and saw Nessie. Im sure it was just a coincidence that the sighting followed a stop at a brewery for a wee nip of scotch -- taken for purely medicinal purposes of course to bolster our systems against the cold, damp air.
: Best wishes,

:Bill's family is from the Isle of Skye, Dunvegan, to be exact. We find ourselves trekking up there for family reunions and clan meetings every other year or so (The MacLeods take clanship VERY seriously and as far as I can tell are still plotting the overthrow of the McDonalds...as well as waiting for the return of Bonnie Prince Charlie). The countryside in Skye is akin to that in North Carolina, but colder, wetter and with a lot more sheep! I for one will be glad to get out of my 6-yards-of-wool arisaid and into Cora's linen and cotton (stays notwithstanding) for hauling myself up mountains...Bill on the other hand is always at home in his kilt (and ladies, he is a traditional Scotsman when it comes to wearing the kilt!)and armed to the teeth. He will be bringing along his armament collection to the Gathering...just in case the McDonalds come around (though his battles are more likely to be with the Clan Drambuie!).
