: My hopes are that you will receive this message within a fortnight.  Three Tales and I have recently been to Fort Bosley and then trekked south to visit with our kin the Sechlers.  All is well here.  Uncle Jacob sends his regards.  Aunt Mary and the children are well although a case of whooping cough laid down two of the children.  They are recovering.  While there for a few days we were hallooed from the forest by a scouting party.  Cautious we were until we spotted the top knot of my nephew Tom, called the Half Breed.  You will remember that Tom is the son of my sister, Anna Barbara.  He has been with a group of longhunters called the Patuxents of Mary Land these past few years.  Tales and I have not seen him recently.  He is well, but a depressing story he and his comrades told.  The savage Shawnee and some of their allies have invaded into Mary Land from the West and have murdered and burned along the frontier.  Parson and Sly Fox (nephew Breed's companions) are staging a Rendezvous of forces at Fort Frederick within a month's time.  Three Tales and I, after we see to the protection of other settlers in this area will continue south then west for this meeting at Frederick.  I have heard from other sources that Cousin Seamus MacWilliam has headed north with Col. Armstrong and am wondering if this message concerning the Rendezvous could reach him.  Cousin Malcolm, would it be possible for a small contingent of the 77th to also meet with us at the Fort Frederick, so that our combined forces could wipe out this latest threat to our colonies?  A contingent of yourself, Brother Gunn, Johnson, MacGregor, and MacFarlane would be sufficient.  Pray, request this of your Captain Croy.
