: : : OK, You Doubting Thomas men, who don't know their thumbs from a hole in...well, never mind.  Here's the deal:  while I don't NORMALLY stare at THUMBS, per se, I DO have a fascination with men's hands.  I find hands to be incredibly sexy, second only to lips and eyes.  That's it.  Some women go for buns, some hairy chests, but *I*, MMMM, am a Lips, Eyes, and Hands Woman!  And in the course of noticing what long, lean, finely sculpted, artistic hands DDL has, I noticed he has the strangest, longest thumbs I've ever seen.  Doc's right...they are almost ALIEN looking.  Now, I've learned to love those thumbs, along with the rest of his hands, and pretty near everything else on him that I've managed to see in all his films, which is darn near all inclusive.  But the thumbs are strange.  They reach almost to the first joint of his index finger...that's a long thumb, by any standard!

: : : It doesn't show enough in the picture in question to draw it to the attention of anyone who hasn't studied the afore-mentioned appendages already, but for those of us who HAVE, it's quite obviously his hands.  He has an odd way of holding the wrists, even, that I can recognize.  Plus, as I said, I can see the blood blister on his thumb that he got at some point during filming.  Don't believe me, just check out the scene in the jail, when he is caressing Cora's head through the bars, and voila...nasty looking, painful boo-boo on his right thumbnail.

: : You've just destroyed any mental acuity I had available to me for the rest of the day!  That is one of my very favorite pictures of Hawkeye, and my computer being small and weak and slow at loading anything, gave me about two minutes of excruciating ecstasy while I watched the picture load centimeter by centimeter from the crown of Hawkeye's head on down.  Good thing I had already put up the post from The Bee Holder.  My mind will be numb until well after dark, I know it.
