Cousin Seamus,
Three Tales and I have turned back south after our mission to assure the safety of the settlers at Freeland's Stockade along the Warrior's Run. Heading toward the Susquehanna, north of Boone's Fort, we ran across an old friend, the Silent One. Silent One, who only speaks in sign, informed us that Girty was spotted at one Miss Marcia's corncrib. Silent One can be quite cryptic, and upon asking for more information, he silently took through the woods. Silent One did not speak of McKee's son Alexander, so I know not if he is with the renegade Girty. We should meet up with you within a day's time to rendezvous at the Augusta fort, then we will join forces once again and travel south past McKee's trading post and Fort Halifax to rejoin the 77th in their efforts to cross the Susquehanna. My concern is that Girty is out there somewhere with a band of Mingoes, but I understand from Silent One that they have the odor of skunk and have been chased from this Miss Marcia's corncrib. It is a curious tale which Silent One has told and methinks that in his haste to sign it to me, the message was garbled. Watch your backside, Cousin, and if you smell skunk, look for the likes of Girty. Pax Aye!
