Oh, Night Sky...I'm so happy to hear you say this. It gives me the courage to own up to the fact that I don't like L of A, either. I was quite young when I first saw it, also, but I disliked it so much, I've never watched it again. I've often wondered if I should give it another chance, now that I'm older and wiser, but just haven't cared enough to do so.
: Give me Ellen Ripley any day. Nothing like seeing a buff 50 year old woman kick ass and come out on top.
And such nasty, alien ass, too!
: As for DDL, I read that the cobbler stories were incorrect. He spent some time watching a shoemaker in Italy make his favorite kind of shoes, but didn't join in the fun.
Well, that doesn't sound entirely true, since there was a picture of him bent over the last, and hammering on a shoe. I have it somewhere, I think, unless it got lost in my big computer crash. I never really believed he was going to take up shoemaking, as some were saying, but it looks like he gave it a try, anyway.
:The last I read he was looking at back surgery to repair damage that was done toward the end of making The Boxer.
Hmmmmmmm...don't let's tell Doc Mary about THIS part. She'll be wantin' to run right over there & take care of him! And I can't be havin' none o' THAT!!
