: Brent: Actually, Days of Heaven is one of my husband's all time favorite movies, and I put off renting TRL for as long as I could (I knew I couldn't handle 3 hours in a theater). We probably stopped the film 3 or 4 times while we were watching just to try to relax and regroup from the stress. As much as I liked it, as I said before, it had to be a one time event for me, I can't take that kind of emotional involvement more than once. YRH
Hi, Night Sky! I think Days of Heaven may be one of those films you either really love or really hate, like my oft-mentioned favorite, The English Patient. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground about it, but as someone said to me recently, that makes it better than if it were a film that was simply boring. There's no excuse for that! ;o)
And I know that Days of Heaven is considered by many to be an important film, so I'm probably in the minority for disliking it so much. But what the hey...My opinion ain't all that important, anyway. (Around home, it counts for not-so-much, as Paul Buchman used to say!)
Interesting discussion, though!
