Did anyone notice that the antagonist character named "Tavington", who is a Loyalist cammander, wears a RED uniform. From what I've read and heard about the film, the character "Tavington" is supposed to represent the historical figure Banastre Tarlton. Tarlton wore a GREEN uniform, not RED, as did almost all Loyalist regiments in the British Army. I've also heard about other inaccuracies in the film. I guess this is just another case of ignorant "Hollywood" film-makers that don't give a rip about history. But why make a "period" film about a historical event if you don't care about history!??? I guess I'll never understand.
