If you look around the Site (especially Mohican Musings) & read some of the archived posts, you will find quite a bit on Mr. Bumppo. There are some great threads regarding Pathfinder/Deerslayer/Hawkeye, etc.
There is also a very thorough contribution on Natty's life & times written by Gayle.
Discussions on the many faces of Mr. Natty Bumppo can be found peppered throughout the archived boards.
