: Christie, as you probably know already, I agree with you 100%.
: However, now you've got me ticked about the missing Munro line, which I guess I hadn't noticed before! That was definitely one of my favorite lines in the film, and really demonstrated a lot about Munro's character, about the story behind the story, about what was going on in Munro's mind....just tons!!!
: once again, I say grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

WOW,
I'm amazed MM removed that line. Thinking more of the F&I war aspect of things, that really was a pivotal line. Having read Ian Steele's "Betrayals", the betrayal of Munro by Webb caused other real or perceived betrayals to come about which helped to alter the course of the rest of the war, which then altered the timimg of the Revolutionary War, which altered......well you know the rest. Anyway, I felt mountains of punch in that line, and hate that it's missing from the DVD version. Before reading Steele's book, it was the only thing that made me understand the weight of Webb's lack of support and the fact that that wasn't an OK thing to do (I admit, I WAS a little dense on that one.)
And just to get a little plug in - I highly recommend the book I mentioned above. It has in it all you ever wanted to know about the brewings and stirrings that led up to the massacre. I found it a little hard to read, but it was chocked full of neat, neat information and was well worth plodding through. I got it through the MohicanLand Bookstore's link to Amazon.com - and it was very affordable too!!! GREAT BOOK!
