G2K Raffle & "Ariel's Cabin"

Good Morning, Mohicanland!

As all the details come together & our Gathering 2000 draws closer, I find myself beginning to get really excited! Imagine! Our THIRD Gathering! Who'd-a thunk?? This year promises to be the best ever, filled with friends, new and old, and adventchas of every sort. Our new home at Bear Den might just turn out to be the perfect spot for our group, complete with nightly bonfires, hiking trails, scenic vistas, and enough variety in accommodations to satisfy most of our individual needs. Yes, it IS pricier for some of us than our trusty ol' Chimney Rock Bunkhouse, but for others, the costs won't be that different. However, we are once again planning to have several fund raising events to help defray future Gathering expenses, and that's where you guys can come into the Planning for NEXT year:

Our General Raffle last year was so successful, we are going to continue the tradition, with all proceeds being put to use to lower the costs of things like Biltmore visits, Trading Post rentals, theater rentals, etc, for our NEXT Gathering. Soooo...here comes the pitch, folks...your Mighty Mohican Mama Marcia is looking for things to raffle! Please contact me if you have any items you'd like to donate to this event. If you have something LOTM related, that's GREAT. If it's not LOTM related, that's great, too! Anything is welcome, and appreciated! Just email me about your ideas for donations, and we'll work out the details.

Please don't feel that this Raffle is only for those attending this year's Gathering. We will happily accept items from anyone who wishes to participate. Remember, the item you donate THIS year may help lower the cost for the Gathering you ARE able to attend! ;o)

The second thing I want to let you know about is really exciting! Our own Scotsman's daughter, Miss Katie, has been so touched by the story of little Ariel that she decided to do a fund-raiser just for her. She will be WO-manning a booth called Ariel's Cabin where there will be items for SALE. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to Ariel's fund. I hope each and every one of you will find it in your heart to help with Kate's project. Miss Katie, herself, will be posting soon with more details on Ariel's Cabin. In the meantime, be thinking about what you can do to help!

In summation, *me, groveling & begging, here*, once again we are counting on your generosity to make our G2K Raffle & Ariel's Cabin successful! Will you consider this?? PLEASE consider this! ;o)
