Another 'Golden Oldie'

Hi Myrrh,

I wasn't quite as lucky as you!! But - as I was drinking my last cup of tea before heading off for bed last night, the late movie started. Trying to read 'The Deerslayer' (yeah, yeah!) I glanced up to see VERY familiar scenery! There before my eyes was Chimney Rock! If you've seen LOTM as many times as I have (and I know most of you probably have!) once seen, that mountain is never forgotten!! Most of the action was filmed, I would say right across from the 'Bunkhouse' and up the road a piece.

The movie was the 1956 version of 'Daniel Boone: Trailblazer', and the 'villain' of the piece? None other than Simon Girty and his Shawnee brothers!!

The acting was a little 'hammy' but - on the whole, (from what I saw) was well made and well directed. Luckily, I had a tape in my VCR so recorded it and now I'm heading off to go watch it. I have to see what that ol' rascal Simon Girty got up to!!
