:Myrrh--
Isn't it wild to compare the '36 with the '92?! What interests me is how Hollywood has changed. In the '36 version where Alice (I can't figure out why they changed the sisters' names around in that version) says "If that's justice then the sooner French guns blow the English army out of America the better it will be for the people here"--she delivers the lines sort of quiet and breathlessly without heavy emotion. Unlike when Cora says it in the '92 version and she really puts emotion into and is quite upset and yelling. I guess it is just the difference between the the eras of how actresses were expected to react to emotion. I love the '36 version and am a huge fan/collector of Randolph Scott. He makes a fine Hawkeye--quite similar to the novel. I just love talking about and comparing the different versions of this movie! I'm just plain giddy!--PP
