Actually getting the patterns and/or clothes themselves is very simply. The best place to try is Sutlers that set up at historic reenactments. If there are any reenactments in your area check them out because Sutlers will be there. They sell patterns, materials, clothes, and most will also taylor make what you want. A lot of Sutlers can now be found on the internet. I have a least twenty bookmarked for the time period of 1860's. I'm not sure about the addresses for earlier time periods, but I do know they are on the web. Good Hunting.
