: : For all of us here in the southern Appalachians who have been enjoying a mild winter, the Master of Life has delivered a double shot of winter's white blanket. Rich, hope your roads are passable and all is safe and warm. And, I hope Hawkeye, et al, have a warm cabin in Can-tuk-ee with a good supply of firewood. They're going to need it, as the temps will be in the single digits tonight, with snow still coming down.
: Here in Western PA too. A couple of weeks ago it was 49-50

Doc, Night Sky and others,
If it is the same storm, it hit in the midwest yesterday. Betty
was pursued by it from Wisconsin down into Moline Illinois area and it was still snowing as of 9PM last night. My ex told me they are getting hammered today in Pennsylvania. She said she had six inches by noon. Betty said Wisconsin probably got a foot or more and was down into the sub teens and twenties with windchill factored in. Brrrr. And we are MOVING there? Is she crazy? No, she's not. All other things considered, we will have a better life there. In spite of the snow. But I do sympathize with you southerners. You don't get in the neck like those up country, but when you do get it, it's that much more of a misery.
I kind of enjoy being outside with only a light jacket at most.
Those days are going to end soon. I bought an arctic parka at the Army/Navy store - same kind we had for winter warfare training in Alaska in winter. I'm prepared!!!!
Bet there will be MANY Huron and frontiersmen at Doc's door looking to be warmed up this night!!!!
