Many good points on the DVD issue. I have to say, I agree with a lot, if not most, of what you said...especially the part about the revised ending. You described my feelings about it perfectly. I did, indeed, feel I had been "hit over the head" with it. And I definitely still choose my THX version, though if I ever get a good DVD setup, I will watch it again, just to hear the sound. As it stands now, the sound quality is still better on my THX, but I've at least discovered the reasons for this. In spite of all our speakers, we don't have Dolby capability, and we need a new receiver before we can even get a player, so it may be awhile until I have a chance to hear the enhanced sound. No problem. I still have my first choice version to watch! ;o)
BTW, saw Arthur Miller tonight doing an interview about Death of a Salesman...it's the strangest thing, but when I see him these days, all I can think of is, "Hey! There's Daniel Day-Lewis's father-in-law!"
