Howdy, Rich & All In Mohicanland! Still having computer troubles, as you mentioned, and don't know when I'll be getting things fixed completely, but I'm here today!
I'm so glad to see you like Meet Joe Black, Rich. This movie was trashed so badly by every critic and by the film industry in general, I almost never admit how much I loved it. I saw it 4 times in the theater, and thought it was lovely every time. I recently read an article on Brad Pitt where his own manager commented on what a bad film it was...he said something about it, but then added, "but that was a really, REALLY bad film that hurt Brad's marketability." !!!! I don't get it. I was entranced with it from the getgo. I loved the humor, the acting, the music, and the moral of the story. I thought it one of Anthony Hopkins most moving parts, thought Claire Forlani was adorable, and thought Brad Pitt did a very good job in a tricky role. I believed his character completely, and thought him very funny (one of the things critics panned the loudest.) Guess there's no accounting for taste, but I'm with you on this one. It's one of my very favorites. And it doesn't hurt that the closing credits are accompanied by one of the neatest arrangements of "Over the Rainbow" I've ever heard.
