: Three cheers for Dickens (LOVE that man's stories!) & three more for Goody Sandy for posting this fascinating insight on Mister Ebenezer Scrooge.
: Oliver Cromwell ... Bah humbug!
Hi:
Two more interesting tid-bits of information about A Christmas Carol are that Dickens main concern was keeping the price of the book low enough so that everyone could afford to buy it. When his publisher balked at the idea, Dickens contributed his own money to keep the price down.
Also, the sickly and youngest Cratchit child was originally named Little Fred, chosen by Dickens supposedly because he said there were so many men named Fred. Its believed that Dickens wife suggested that the character be named Tiny Tim. (You go Girl!)
Best wishes,
Goody Sandy
