: : Well, not to discuss "thicker" waistlines after having our dear ones; in "Follow the River" I do believe the heroine, Mary, had a dress similiar; but not quite the same as Alexandra's; and she wore it while she was pregnant; and after she had the baby "on the road" (shudder at the thought); and then kept wearing it, just, I guess, by tying up the "outer dress" tighter...
: : I'll have to watch the video's I have to see how similiar they are; although, the countryside is the same as is Eric Schweig in both (hey, there's my tie-in!)

: Yes, you're right, Mary Inglis was pregnant and wore a very similar dress.  However, after the baby was born, I felt she still looked every bit as pregnant as she looked before the birth! Her bodice laces did not seem to be pulled any tighter to me. And her waistline still looked very high. However, perhaps it is just the way the chemise and skirt 'bunches' when the over-dress is laced.
